Quiet Operation
TThe
Allegiance 18 is the ultimate investment in your family’s home
comfort. The America Standard Allegiance 18 provides the ultimate
comfort with the quietest operation and highest efficiency. It’s
so quiet; you may not even know its running. The American Standard
Allegiance 18 is designed to work as quietly as possible, regardless
of the weather or the comfort level you wish to maintain in your
home. This is because of their innovative variable speed fan motor,
which operates at a very low rpm. Even on the hottest summer days
when it operates at higher speed, it does so with significantly
reduced rpm, giving you the kind of quiet operation you’d expect
from an Allegiance 18.
Two Compressors Are
Better Than One
Two-staged cooling means exactly what you
think it does. Instead of operating on one single-speed compressor,
an Allegiance 18 operates on two dual duration compressors which
provides two-stage cooling. Most of the time the system will operate
at low speed the first stage compressor. This provides quiet even
comfort in your home. The first stage is also extremely efficient
giving you increased energy savings. However on extremely hot
days when the cooling demand is higher, it switches to the second
stage to make sure your home’s comfort is maintained. Two stage
cooling puts an end to temperature swings. Since it operates at
low speed most of the time, cool, conditioned air is distributed
consistently and evenly throughout your home for the ultimate
level of comfort. With a SEER of 18.90, the Allegiance 18 well
exceeds the minimum efficiency level of 13.00 SEER designated
by the EPA for Energy Star recognition.
Greater Humidity
Control
When matched with a American Standard variable
speed furnace or air handler, an Allegiance 18 air conditioner
has a special feature called comfort-R. Set by the installer,
Comfort-R is a method of ramping airflow so it gets cooler faster,
so your comfort is attained much sooner. Comfort-R dehumidifies
your home, removing up to 24 gallons of water a day compared to
only 6 gallons that a non-variable speed system removes.
